Known also as Nativity or Manger Scenes, Christmas Cribs (or Presepios in Italian, Belen in Spanish, or Krippe in German), these beautiful paper nativities pop-up or fold-out to reveal glorious 3-dimensional tableaux of the Nativity.

Here you will share your love of creches and your collection; meet other enthusiasts; tell us about yourself and your favorite creches; museum creche collections; creche special exhibits; creche books. Learn about creche traditions, history, and lore. And be encouraged to create your own paper nativity from available kits or free Internet offerings. And, perhaps in the future make this community take part in a national gathering..

A gift from a stranger, this beautiful Nativity and its companion sparked the formation of our Creche Guild.

"Dear Alexis," the letter said from a woman I did not know, "this is a gift from one Christmas lover to another. Do not send me any money -- Just enjoy and cherish these creches - -and have a Very Merry and Blessed Christmas." It was signed "M. Patricia Koogle."

Pat's touching words accompanied two beautiful creches. I was speechless... (You can read Pat's letter in it's entirety, and see her gifts to me -- and to you, through Crechemania.com)

But, characteristically, not for long: I resolved to do what I've often dreamed about: put in motion our Creche Guild -- and make special people like Pat a part of my life.

I am grateful to Pat for her touching gesture and encouragement in the formation of the Creche Guild, as well as to some very speciall people whom I hope to introduce to you as information about them and their collections becomes available. Be looking for our "Creche Enthusiast" pages in the near future.
