Creating an Icon

Six plastic containers dripping with paint, two brushes, a gesso board, a mahl stick, a masterpiece of Byzantine art — Christ from the Hagia Sophia Deësis mosaic in Constantinople (present-day Istanbul) — and an icon takes form by the capable hand of a master iconographer.
